CARE & TIPS FOR YOUR PANFLUTE

How to take care of your pan flute

Special Order Grand Tenor Pan Flutes.

Care of your panflute

Your panflute does not require additional oiling as it has been specially treated, but it should be protected from major changes in temperature and humidity. Keep your panpipes away from sources of heat such as ovens, radiators, sunshine and, in particular, the interior of a car during a hot day.

In wintertime, after you bring your panpipes to a warm room and before you start playing the instrument, leave it for a while to reach room tem- perature. Do not warm the instrument by placing it on a radiator!

After a panflute has been played for a long time they should be dried. Place the panpipes in a vertical position with the mouthpiece placed on a cotton cloth and then in a horizontal position so that air can dry the inside of the pipes for a few hours. If the instrument is wet, only put it in its case for transport and make sure it is dried afterwards.

Do not change the position of the plugs in the pipes unless you want to change the tuning. I would advise not retuning until you feel comfortable playing the instrument and have developed more technique and lip muscles.
